9th Grade Summer School

Summer School for Incoming 9th Graders

Incoming 9th grade students may take Health over the summer.  We recommend this for students that have an impacted schedule.  An impacted schedule is one where an incoming student would be taking a foreign language and band, orchestra, drama or choir.  A sport or a year-long VPA elective does not count as an impacted schedule.

The information to enroll in Health is listed below.  There are currently two options for summer school health classes; CUSD Credit Recovery Summer Program or Pacific Coast High School (PCHS).  We are currently awaiting information on ACCESS and as soon as that becomes available we will pass the information onto you.

CUSD CREDIT RECOVERY SUMMER PROGRAM - The course work is completed at home.  All tests must be taken in person at ANHS.  A one-hour testing time per week/per class (at Aliso Niguel High School) is assigned.  Students will be required to attend a mandatory orientation June 19th or 20th.   This date is assigned by the district and cannot be changed.  Failure to attend the orientation will result in being dropped from the course. Course work must be completed by July 25, 2018.  Information regarding the CUSD summer program can be found at https://support.cusdonline.com.  Registration for incoming 9th graders opens on April 13 and will close on May 25th (or when class is full).  Detailed information will be emailed to you on June 4th.

PCHS – The Health course offered through PCHS is fully online and the final for this health class must be taken at PCHS (in Tustin) face-to-face with a teacher.   PCHS classes are CSU/UC approved A-G credits .  Registration opens on March 26th and is on a first come first serve basis.  Applications are due to Mrs. Saladow no later than May 17th at the end of the school day but the course can close prior to that date. The enrollment packet can be downloaded at  http://pchs.k12.ca.us/july-august-capistrano/  Print out entire packet and bring completed application to Mrs. Saladow, Academic Advisor

ACCESS - ACCESS is now available to CUSD students.  Access run July 2 through August 8, 2018. Registration will close on May 17th (all forms must be given to Mrs. Saladow on that date).  Print the ACCESS referral form and course request here https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dEY8JpOueAxfrVs1X0PImEnoxmeLeu6-/view?usp=sharing and bring the completed and signed request to Mrs. Saladow.  Do Not Print Double Sided.  Access will not accept forms printed double sided.  Print the enrollment packet here http://www.ocde.us/ACCESS/Pages/S1S-AU103---South-East-AU.aspx and bring it to your ACCESS appointment.  If prompted for a username and password, click cancel.  Again, do not print double sided.
